THE VINE & THE BRANCHES

John 15:1–11 · NKJV

THE SOURCE
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
JOHN 15:5
LIFE FLOWS
THE KEY
A branch does not generate life by trying harder —
it remains in the vine from which life flows.
The life flows. The fruit comes.
Not from the branch — through the branch.
BUT WHAT DOES ABIDING LOOK LIKE?
TWO UNDERSTANDINGS OF ABIDING
TRUE ABIDING
Remain
Rest
Depend
Receive
Respond
Fruit borne through union
THE COMMON MISTAKE
Try harder
Maintain by effort
Devotions as checklist
Prayer used as leverage
Self-reliance
Trying to produce from self

The branch does not produce fruit for the vine.

The vine produces fruit through the branch.

SUPPORTING VERSES
THE VINE AND ABIDING
THE WARNING
THE FRUIT

Abiding is not anxious self-maintenance. It is the branch's natural posture — remaining in the vine, receiving life, bearing what the vine produces.

The moment abiding becomes a technique to master, you have confused dependence with strain.
